CASEY CANDEBAT Casey J. Candebat, a native of New Orleans, makes his debut with Wichita Grand Opera as Ernesto. A recent Grand Prize Winner of the Bel Canto Foundation Competition, he made his solo debut in 2007 with New Orleans Opera as Parpignol in La Bohéme. Since then he has been seen numerous times on their stage, including the title role in Gluck’s L’Ile de Merlin and supporting roles in Il Trittico, Rigoletto, Manon Lescaut, La Traviata, Turandot, and Salome. Mr. Candebat has also performed leading roles in The Marriage of Figaro, John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles, The Magic Flute, Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Romeo and Juliet, The Gondoliers, Orpheus in the Underworld, and The Elixir of Love. Mr. Candebat has been a member of Young Artist programs with Chautauqua Opera and Opera North, and holds degrees from Northwestern University and Loyola University. |
