ABOUT DON PASQUALE:

Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone William Powers returns to Wichita in the title role after making his Paris debut in Verdi’s Nabucco. Sharin Apostolou revisits the role of the saucy Norina following her performances in Handel’s Rinaldo at Portland Opera. Michael Nansel reprises his role as Dr. Malatesta following his outstanding appearance as Iago in this season’s Otello, while Dustin Peterson once again takes the role of Ernesto. Maestro Ken Hakoda will conduct.

Opera on the Lake is Wichita Grand Opera’s annual Gift to the Community and is free to the public, paid for largely by the Wichita Grand Opera, unlike any other similar performance in the nation. Throughout the past ten years, Opera on the Lake has developed into Wichita’s Unique Summer Tradition, without fiscal support from the city, county, or other civic organizations. This performance is made possible by contributions from Laham Development, The Wichita Eagle, Mr. & Mrs. William Oliver, and Mike Steven Auto Group.
