SHAYNA LEAHY

Shayna Leahy returns to the WGO, where she directed last season’s Madama Butterfly. Previously she directed Aida for the Wichita Grand Opera in February 2009, and has worked for the company both onstage and behind the scenes since 2003. Outside of WGO, she is an assistant director for Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance program, and was the recipient of the David Farrar Internship for Stage Direction in 2008. She has worked as both music director and stage director for the Hiawatha Area Arts and Theatre Society and Theater Atchison in NE Kansas. She received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from Wichita State University.
