Heather Redondo

Mezzo Soprano Heather Olevia Redondo has been heralded for her intuitive performances and her uniquely rich voice. After moving to Wichita from New York in 2015 to sing with WGO as a young artist, she was pleased to discover the thriving musical scene. She is a champion of local music, portraying roles in the Wichita opera scene regularly; most recently Mrs. McLean in Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah (WGO, 2022), Buttercup in Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore (Opera Kansas, 2024), and Taller Sister in Mizzy Mazoli’s contemporary opera Proving Up (Opera Kansas, 2025). Heather earned a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University. She enjoys sacred music as well, having cantered at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for many years. Heather has also been an avid teacher, having only just recently retired from conducting the Circle School District’s middle and high school choirs after receiving a recent diagnosis of ALS. She plans to continue singing as long as possible, but if this is her last full length opera, she is glad to see it end where it began.
