Shannon Jennings

Praised by the Washington Post for her dramatic intensity and vocal ability, Cuban-American soprano Shannon Jennings continues to wow critics and audiences alike. She has been seen at Wichita Grand Opera as the title role in Rusalka, and Maria in West Side Story. Ms. Jennings has dazzled in exciting role debuts and star billings, including the title roles in Rusalka with Opera Orlando, Turandot with Gulfshore Opera, and Mimì in La bohème with Opera Las Vegas, and her 5th time as Mimì with Charleston Opera Theater. This season,


Ms. Jennings also sings the title role in Turandot with Pacific Opera Project, and the soprano solo in the Verdi Requiem with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. She is a 2025 Grantee of the Olga Forrai Foundation for dramatic voices. Ms. Jennings has been featured by Oscar-winning film composer Michael Giacchino. In 2019, she was the soloist in the world premier of Giacchino’s ADVENT to commemorate NASA’s 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Lunar Landing, making her debut with the National Symphony Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. In 2020, she made her recording debut as a soloist on Giacchino’s first solo album, Travelogue Volume 1, available under Death Waltz Originals & Mondo Records.
